Hello December!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s Decemberrrrrrrrrrrrrr, brrhhh! This is the best month of the year. Everything looks so magical around this time of the year. Isn’t it? For me this month is all about cold nights, fairy lights, gleaming roads, loads of tea, dazzling desserts, warm blanket, super cute socks, beautiful movies, pile of gifts and the Christmas tree. As soon as December arrives, I start drawing the lists of things like decorations that I would need for my tree, food that is going to be served on the Christmas eve, gifts for everyone and movies that I am going to watch through the month right till the start of the next year in my pjs, night after night. I feel most cozy, comfortable and happiest around this time and if I could have my way then I would never let December to come to the end.

Last week my Christmas tree went up though it still needs some more decoration but I would love to share the picture of this with you guys. Though it’s not really tall or extravagant or real but it’s still every inch scintillating in my opinion.

Feel free to share the pictures of  your Christmas tree. I would love to drool over them.

How Do I Feel?

Hello there,.. hope you guys were keeping well while I was away. Well my debut contemporary women fiction novel Fashionably Yours is pretty much out in paperback as well as in eBook (kindle). Though It will take few days before you can buy it from the bookstores near you but you can totally purchase it online at Flipkart Infibeam Amazon & Landmark

I have to tell you guys that I am quite overwhelmed by the response that I have received so far. The reviews are pretty mixed and majorly positive. I still have to pinch myself every time I see another review or photo people share on facebook, instagram or twitter of my book to make myself believe that it's not just a dream, that i have actually written a book which has been actually published by a publisher, no less but Harlequin. God knows when I am going to feel like a proper author, I wonder how other authors do it. It all feels so freaking cool and weird at the same time. Couple of weeks back I got the box of author copies and i remember that feeling when i picked up one of the books from the lot...I was actually trembling head to toe and could feel the blood rushing through my body. It was beyond the words experience. Couple of days back I saw a girl reading Fashionably Yours in the metro and that totally blanked me out! Someone was actually reading MY book! LOL! How freaking cool is that?

Well to share my immense happiness and joy on the publication of Fashionably Yours, I am having a fabulous giveaway over my Facebook page where 3 lucky winners can win the 3 gorgeous hampers along with the signed copy of Fashionably Yours.

AND if this is not enough then I am having a one more giveaway over Goodreads where 5 lucky winners can win the signed copies of Fashionably Yours.

Girls and Guys, both are welcome to enter the competitions. While girls can win the hamper or signed copy for themselves to snuggle with on the cold days, guys can gift it to their wives, sister, girlfriends or a girl friend.

My Playlist For Fashionably Yours!

Helllooooo lovely peeps!! I am so EXCITED to tell you that my debut novel which is a woman centered romantic comedy, FASHIONABLY YOURS, has been published in UK and USA and is getting a great response. I am so thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FASHIONABLY YOURS is a story of a girl from Shimla arriving in Mumbai withe the dreams of being a serious fashion writer. This book is written in a diary format and is a hilarious journey of the girl with the pinch of fashion, glamour and love.

The book is due to be launched in India by the end of November by Harlequin India and you can pre-order it at Flipkart and Infibeam which are offering the great discounts on pre-order. I guarantee you a 100% entertainment.

So, now you have pre-ordered Fashionably Yours and waiting for it to be delivered at your door steps, in the meanwhile please check out this tiny playlist which inspired me while writing the book:

·      *   Woman’s World- Cher: I absolutely love this song. This song has played a huge role in the character  development of Maya. Maya, the main protagonist of my book, is a very strong and an ambitious  woman. No matter how hard the situation is, she never gives up.

·     *    Fashion Show-Cory Lee: This is practically a theme song of Fashionably Yours. It’s such a  beautiful, cute and fashionably uplifting song.  All the glamour in the book is only and only because  of this song.

·     *    When You Say Nothing At All- Ronan Keating: I have heard every single song by Ronan Keating.  He has got the best voice ever and this song is soooooooo gorgeous and romantic that I couldn't help  but used it in the book when Maya and Aryan kissed for the first time. I went through some dark  personal stuff while writing the book and this song had done the wonderful job of hauling me out of  the darkness and helping me creating the sparks between Maya and Aryan.

Cover/Blurb Reveal #FashionablyYours

Hello Sugar! I am thrilled to share the cover and blurb of my book with all of you. As you already know that my debut chicklit/women fiction novel "Fashionably Yours" is getting published by Harlequin India in paperback as well as ebook and will hit the shelves by December 2014 and if you like the blurb and can't wait for December than you can get it a month in advance as the ebook would be available from November onward. Eek! I am EXCITED.

HAVE A LOOK!!!

Blurb:

“Maya Kapoor swaps the snowy mountains for the glittering ocean.”

Maya Kapoor arrived in Mumbai with a glamorous dream, quite literally. Maya wants to be a serious fashion writer for the high-end fashion magazine, Glamorous but luck is not in her favor. Instead, she lands a job with a local fashion magazine, Style. Maya hates everything about it but for now this is all she has. Despite all the odds, Maya is excited about living an independent, fashionable life in the city of dreams.

At twenty-five, love has eluded Maya. But when she bumps into the dashing photographer, Aryan Malik, she falls head over heels for his gorgeous smile and charming manner.

But Maya seems to be stuck in a rut - her credit card bills are sky-high, her melodramatic mother can't stop ranting, the boss is unbearably cruel, her younger sister has decided to tie the knot, and she's not sure if Aryan could love a simple, confused girl like her.

Will Maya get the fairytale life she dreamed about or will she let everything slip through her fingers? Read her diary and find out.

Tell me what you think of the cover or blurb. I would LOVE to know!!

Dreams DO Come True!!

Believe in your dreams and they will come true. I always, always, always believed in it and I can testify that it works!!!
For years and years I dreamt of getting published, commercially. Four years back, after completing my Post Graduation in Business, I was offered a job in one of the leading newspaper houses in India. I felt the luckiest person on earth but when for the first time I set foot in my to-be-office premises, I got cold feet and in that moment of confusion, I was clear and convinced about one thing, this was not my dream. I was never so confident in my life about anything. I made the decision to leave the job (yes on a very first day itself) but I had no idea what I was going to do. I sat myself at home for couple of months and practically did nothing. Three months later, I woke up and decided that I was going to do what I always wanted to do but never thought that I was capable to do. I decided to write. I remember once telling to my classmates in school that one day I will be a writer and they laughed it off right there, right then. I had no idea how and from where this thought had come to my mind but I guess it always stayed there in some dark corner.
Six months passed and I finished writing my first full length novel. I sent it to every agent and publisher in the country and not so long after my mail box started flooding with rejection letters but in middle of all the rudely and sweetly written rejection letters I got two specific letters from really good publications and though they had turned down the manuscript, they loved my writing. It was very difficult for me to be brave about it but I managed to stay sane enough to make the decision that I was going to give it a another shot. Few weeks later I once again started writing, not a full length book but writing samples and started pitching them to newspapers and magazines. Never heard back from them but one day I struck lucky and with the little help from my friend I got the opportunity to write and edit a coffee-table book. I know it sounds exciting but trust me it was darn difficult. Non-fiction never held my interest and it was one big challenge to accept the offer but I was in no position to turn it down, I desperately wanted to write. Two years later I had four coffee-table books published but I was still craving for the commercial success. I took break from writing non-fiction and magazine articles and sat down to write a brand new, crispy and fluffy novel. I was excited and scared. It took me four months to finish it and once again I started to send out the proposals. Rejection letters started to come in. I paused there and then. I hold back myself from sending out any more proposals and got down to re-edit the book. During this re-edit phase I deleted 3/4th of the book. It sent me into “great depression”.
It took me 8 months to haul myself out of the dark pit and started writing again. I was half way through the book when I came across the Harlequin India’s announcement for Aspiring Writer Audition. I never won any competition in my life so I was very hesitant to participate and after much arguing and self doubt I sent my entry, just in time. Nearly a month later the result came out and I was nowhere in the winners list. I cried hard, really hard. BUT few days later my inbox pinged and announced the arrival of an email. It was from Harlequin India and though they had already announced the (general fiction) winner, they still wanted to see the rest of my manuscript. I didn’t know how to react so I sat down with my laptop and started to churn out the words. I had been given an opportunity of a lifetime and for me it was now and never.
After a month of mailing back and forth and editing, re-editing, I have been FINALLY offered a publishing contract. I had felt so depressed and failed for so long that it took me 36 hours to get my head around the news. Currently the book is going through its (hopefully) final edit and very soon would be published by Harlequin India in paperback as well as in digital format.

P.S: Keep visiting to know about the book. It’s a book written for a girl from a girl and I hope you will like it.
